Nathan Mulligan was the hat trick hero in the latest pre-season friendly, against Blue Square Bet North side Blyth Spartans.
Mulligan opened the scoring on 13 minutes in front of a crowd of 122 before Shaun Clarke doubled the lead before half time.
Lee Mason pulled one back for the visitors immediately after the break but the two-goal advantage was restored just five minutes later when Mulligan headed the Ancients into a 3-1 lead.
And when Karl Richards was brought down in the box after 55 minutes, Mulligan stepped forward to convert the penalty and secure his hat trick.
A Graeme Armstrong header gave Spartans hope on 65 minutes, but there were no further goals.
